2023 Biking Totals

Less than 2022 but this was mainly due to sickness. I think I was sick three times with one of those being COVID which lasted over three weeks! First (and hopefully last) time I got COVID.

On the bright side I did the Rideal Lakes Cycle Tour and although the first day was rainy, I felt good both days and had a great time with the guys as usual. I did go to Rob’s cottage but it was solo as part of a bikepacking trip to my sister’s house which is close to Mt. Tremblant. This was a four day riding trip on the gravel bike with bags for gear and clothing. One lesson learned is that I need to take less stuff! The bike was heavy and a little unwieldy on the downhills as well as mostly hike-a-bike on the uphills. No other long rides except for a 200km ride to Perth and back which went surprisingly well considering two thirds was solo.

I am hoping to do more bikepacking this year as well as more rides to Gatineau Park. There was construction on the route in 2023 which made for a great excuse to skip it. No excuses this year!
